For its 50th year, PSRC wanted a film that would celebrate not just its legacy, but its heartbeat. To bring this vision to life, the company turned to an artist who understood that the story of PSRC is ultimately the story of the Filipino.
“When I learned that PSRC has always been about knowing Filipinos by heart, I knew the film had to reflect that,” the artist shared. “It’s not just about research or data. It’s about going straight into the core of issues, and putting heart into information until they become insights.”
This inspiration gave rise to the anniversary video’s central theme: Sapul sa Puso. The phrase captures not only the role PSRC has played for five decades, but also the diverse realities of the Filipino experience — sapul sa kiliti, drama, kwento, pangangailangan, emosyon, kalokohan, at pangarap ng Pinoy.
For the artist, the project was also a chance to reflect on PSRC’s enduring relevance in today’s climate. “We live in an era of lies, half-truths, and falsehoods. That’s why I wish for PSRC to continue uncovering undeniable facts, and to keep telling stories of who we are, where we’ve been, and where we’re going.”
The film is both a tribute and a reminder: that PSRC’s work has always been more than data. It has been about shining light on the Filipino condition, celebrating resilience, and guiding the way forward.
As PSRC turns 50, its golden message rings clear: to know Filipinos by heart — and to always remain Sapul sa Puso.
