What inspired you to take the creative direction for the artwork?
The concept of the work is as follows:
Interbeings Henceforward
This work is based on two main concepts that are related to connectivity and connections, namely: rhizomes and quilts. Both are used as metaphors in creating meaningful linkages and avenues for collaboration that result into interactivity, diversity, and flexibility. Wherein growth is seen as non-hierarchical and non-linear, and yet generative. This adaptive co-existence and level of interconnectedness prioritizes various perspectives to create a living fiber in constant flux; be it through “formation, deformation or reformation.”
Given that I have been exposed to the work that PSRC has done through the years in various capacities (seen their research, participated in FGDs, done other commissioned works, and my personal relationships within the PSRC family), I felt that anchoring the piece on the concept above best illustrates what I have experienced and what I know will future-proof the company.

Ano para sa’yo ang pag-sapul sa puso ng PSRC?
PSRC is highly in touch with the Filipino audience. The awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the various nuances, amalgamations, complexities of the dynamic Pinoy psyche and identity are deeply embedded in its core. This is the life blood that flows through every project that they have. Their solid grounding in the local involvement and knowledge makes them highly relevant in the global arena as well.

What do you wish for PSRC in the years to come?
We are at the cusp of a fast paced and ever-changing landscape. This heralds new temperaments, technologies, and nexuses. Despite these vicissitudes and their accompanying challenges, may the company stay true to its roots (people, values, and bonds) as it adapts. As it grows in breadth so must its depth; growth that will essentially benefit and uplift Filipinos. May PSRC continue threading and sewing this multi-layered quilt of interconnectedness.
